if you point a remote control at my camera, you can see the infrared lights on it. so if the camera can see this, why can’t it take infrared pictures normally, like night vision so to speak. i know you can do things like that by modifying your camera and things like that, but why can’t it take infrared pictures normally?
i mean taking pictures of heat signatures without modifying the camera.

I don’t remember why I did it, but I pointed a remote at a digital camera and the light from the remote was visible. Why does it show up on a digicam? And since infrared will show up on a digital camera, does that mean that if I had a strong enough infrared source I could shoot in complete darkness with a regular digicam and no flash?
